A SAVIOR'S WORK

While walking in darkness, sure and proud,

I was fearful of nothing, and talking loud.

I produced a plan by which to achieve and gain,

even manifest at the expense of others' pain.

Your laws, and your life, seemed insignificant, at best,

though secretly I hoped you'd be there, if put to the test.

My, so much grief rolled in, indeed, mounted with time,

you brought me way low, to consider my offensive crime—

My Lord if I had passed while in such a rebellious state,

O I desire rather not to consider my ultimate fate.

In your mercy, rather, you bent me, you shaped me, loathe to depart,

prompting, patiently waiting, for a change of heart.

Now, ever, Lord Jesus, please help me, to follow your lead,

in service to others, with a humble spirit, eternally freed.

Thank you for your abundant mercy and patience great savior God...
